Middle school students spent Wed., October 17, out in the community in a variety of locations, dedicating their time and efforts to a number of different organizations and causes.

You likely read the recent story of GCA Junior Sean Grace, who at the age of 13, scored a 36 on the ACT on his third attempt on the test. WVLT picked up the story, and interviewed Sean and his mother, Mrs. Jennifer Grace, in a great segment during their Local 8 News episode on Monday, October 22, 2019. Sean discussed his test preparation strategies, provided advice for other students preparing for standardized testing, and his mother shared a story of Sean's preschool years when they first began to see his rapid academic progress.
Congratulations to Mrs. Eller's first-grade class who won the Lower School level competition of the Battle of the Bottles! Her class collected the most money toward the donations made to benefit Investing Hope (Hope Resource Center), that seeks to minister to moms with unplanned pregnancies.
They enjoyed a special reward breakfast for their dedication and great efforts during this competition.
Congratulations to GCA Senior, Will Maynard, for his National Merit Commendation! Approximately 1.5 million high school students take the PSAT each year and of those, 50,000 students are recognized as Commended Scholars. This distinction places Will in the top 3% of high school students in the United States.
GCA Lower School cross country runner Emory Thomas has qualified for and will be competing on Saturday, October 20 in the 2018 TN State Elementary School Cross Country Championships at Victor Ashe Park.
Congratulations to our Lady Rams Soccer team on advancing to the first round of the state tournament. They will be playing Evangelical Christian School (from Memphis) at Christ Presbyterian Academy (in the Nashville area) today (October 16, 2018) at 4:00 p.m. CST.

We were honored to have a group of distinguished judges from WVLT, including Ted Hall, Amanda Hara, and Doug Johnson, in addition to GCA teacher, Mrs. Julie Bass, and former GCA staff member, Shannon Morris. Twelve talented students performed and entertained the audience with their lively stories.
After a loss in the first set of the semifinal against Gibbs Middle, the GCA Middle School Volleyball team came back and won the next two sets to win. They beat Bearden Middle in the Championship round in two sets to clinch the title.
Grace Christian Academy student, Sean Grace, is breaking the norms and navigating the traditional academic career at an astounding pace. Most recently, Sean and his parents learned that he had earned a perfect score on the ACT, a 36, in preparation the college application process.
Congratulations to GCA seniors, Jessica Dukes and Dalton James, who both scored a 35 on the ACT. These scores have opened up a realm of possibilities for both of these hard-working, excellent students.
