After years of leadership and service to the GCA golf program, Coach Andrew Gouge has resigned from his role as Director of Golf Operations and high school head coach to spend more time being a fan and a dad. We are excited to announce that Coach Brian Mountain will be taking over as our new GCA Director of Golf Operations. Coach Mountain has been involved with our golf program as both middle school Head Coach and high school assistant coach for the past 3 seasons. "I'm honored to follow Coach Gouge in leading this growing golf program and am beyond thankful for his guidance." We are pleased to announce that Coach Mountain and Coach Bryce Kendrick will be the new Co-Head Coaches of our high school varsity golf team. Coach Hendrick is an alum of GCA and went on to play Division 1 golf for Tennessee Tech University.

Grace Christian Academy has had a long line of standout players on the softball team, but a junior on this year's squad has set a new standard for the Lady Rams.
With the postseason just under wraps, Hailey Brooks has closed out her high school career on a high note.
“I’ve always loved softball. I started playing when I was 6,” she said. “It’s always just been my thing, you know, and my parents have given me every opportunity I could have, and I am so grateful for that.”
Grace Christian Academy is pleased to announce the hiring of Dominic James Wright and Angela Phillips Wright as their next high school girls' co-head basketball coaches.
Dominic James was a star point guard at Marquette, an All-American, and a former Big East Rookie of the Year. Angela, originally from Oak Ridge, TN, played high school basketball under legendary coach Jill Prudden, leading her team to two state championship appearances. She began her college career as a 4-year D1 starting point guard for the University of Kentucky and Indiana State University.
The state track and field championships for Division II Class A wrapped up this past week in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Over the course of the past week, hundreds of track and field athletes from across the state descended upon Middle Tennessee State University with the hopes of walking away with the title of state champion.
Repeating championships in any sport, team or individual, is difficult, both mentally and physically. Embracing the challenge is half the battle, and that half is one that Grace Christian Academy senior Brianna Baker clearly has a leg up on.
The thread that has woven through Ria Eda’s life, who is a part of the Grace Christian Academy class of 2023, is the unwavering presence of God’s sovereignty in her story.
Eda’s parents moved to the United States before she was born from Japan, a country where Christianity isn’t as prominent.
“My parents were not believers before they moved to Tennessee. As adults, they came to know the Lord, and I often think about what my life may look like if we all still lived in Japan,” Eda said.
On May 11th, Grace Christian Academy was the recipient of a $1,000 TVA STEM classroom grant, sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (BVI, a TVA retiree organization), and Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB). The competitive STEM classroom grant program received 336 grant applications from across TVA’s seven state service territory. Only 233 applications were selected for funding. The TVA STEM grant program funds STEM learning projects that involve K-12 students engaging in the Engineering Design Process and using 21st Century skills to solve real-world problems. This program continues to grow and benefit more schools and students across the Valley region. Grace Christian Academy is thrilled to be a grant recipient of a growing program that endeavors to further STEM education. A full list of the grant recipients can be found at 2022-2023 Grant Recipients – tvastem. ( https://www.tva.com/stem/2022-2023-grant-recipients ). We would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Missy Harold and Dr. Peni Hurt for exposing us to this opportunity and for enduring the process of writing the grant proposals on behalf of the school.
