How did you first hear about Grace Christian Academy?
We first heard about it from families within our life group.
What was the difference that made you choose GCA for your child(ren)?
The close proximity to our house and more importantly the reasonable cost compared to CAK (this was a couple of years ago).
What has been your favorite part of your child's experience at GCA?
Surrounding our kids with dialogue about the bible and Jesus in every day school settings.
What would you share with other parents who are considering Christian education?
The benefits we have experienced in a Christian educated school far out-weigh the costs, although the costs are still high. We have seen a huge gain of knowledge from our now first grader about who Jesus is, why did he die on the cross, that he can go to God's word when he is confused, lost, etc. We believe that if we surround our kids with Christian parenting and Christian education, our kids will have a better understanding and appreciation for what it looks like to live as a Christian as they grow older.
Did you have any concerns about enrolling your child at GCA? How did you overcome those?
We initially had reservations about a private Christian school because one parent went to public school and the other went to a private non-Christian school. We also were concerned about the stigma of the school being connected to a Baptist Church when we do not resonate with the Baptist ministry at all and attend a more non-denominational church. As we came to God in prayer and discussion for several months about this change we had one thing that pointed us back to GCA, which was God pressing on our hearts to send our kids to this school. We asked a ton of questions concerning the type of ministry that would be taught, and we were delightfully reassured through consultation with staff and attending chapel with our children that it was a Christian school that was founded on Christian values not on denominations. In fact, there are teachers and students from all different churches around the area that attend GCA.
