Amy McAfee

Mrs. Amy McAfee has been an integral part of the GCA faculty since 2013 when she first joined the third grade team. Now serving as an Early Middle School faculty member in 5th grade, she's passionate about the relationships that she has the opportunity to build with her students and their families. Mrs. McAfee and her husband, Mark, have three children who are also a part of the Grace community.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, watching my kids play sports, walking our dog, and playing games with family and friends.

 

Share a fun fact about yourself!

A couple of years ago we surprised our kids with attending a Notre Dame football game! We watched Rudy, gave the kids a scavenger hunt to find the tickets, and toured the campus. My husband and son are big ND fans, and it was such a fun family experience to cheer in the stands with 80,000 other fans!

 

What do you love most about teaching at GCA?

What I love most about teaching at GCA is that all 3 of my children are here. It is truly a family! While I'm pouring into my students each and every day, I have the comfort of knowing that my kids are also being loved on and poured into by their teachers.

 

What do you want your students to remember from their time with you?

I want them to remember my love for God, my joy, and the fun that we had together while studying academics. I want them to know that I will continue to count them as "my kids" even after they've left my class, and I'm here for them and their families if they need anything.
