"I have been exposed to a innumerable number of new ideas, philosophies, beliefs, and lifestyles. The Christian education I received has helped me navigate through these new experiences and identify those that align with the message of Christ, and those that do not."
Please share an update on your life. Which degree are you pursuing and from what school?
I am finishing my third year pursuing a Pre-med Biology and a Chemistry minor at University of the Cumberlands. I also was employed at UT Medical Center and got certified in basic life support (BLS) techniques.
What are you doing professionally and/or in leadership in college?
Currently in college, I am the Student Body President, and I was just re-elected to serve again in the same role next year during my senior year.
What are your future goals?
My immediate goals are to graduate and attend Med School, although I have not decided where to attend yet. In the future, I hope to be a physician of some sort, although I do not know my specialty yet.
When you look back to your time at GCA, how did it create a strong foundation for your college experience and career?
At GCA, I was prepared well for the difficulty of college classes, and I learned to present myself in a very professional manner. The paper and presentation we did to graduate from GCA is helpful as I begin to prepare for my own senior thesis to graduate college next year. I have done this before and I feel prepared to do it again.
How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview?
My Christian background at GCA has also been helpful in college. I have been exposed to a innumerable number of new ideas, philosophies, beliefs, and lifestyles. The Christian education I received has helped me navigate through these new experiences and identify those that align with the message of Christ, and those that do not. Although I have changed as a person during college, I believe it has been for the better and has always been rooted in my faith.
What has been one of your favorite experiences since graduation from GCA?
My wrestling team in college has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. My coach and teammates alike feel like the closest family I have experienced, apart from my true immediate family. Every day with them is a blessing, and I am so thankful I was recruited and was able to join this great group of guys.
