On May 11th, Grace Christian Academy was the recipient of a $1,000 TVA STEM classroom grant, sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (BVI, a TVA retiree organization), and Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB). The competitive STEM classroom grant program received 336 grant applications from across TVA’s seven state service territory. Only 233 applications were selected for funding. The TVA STEM grant program funds STEM learning projects that involve K-12 students engaging in the Engineering Design Process and using 21st Century skills to solve real-world problems. This program continues to grow and benefit more schools and students across the Valley region. Grace Christian Academy is thrilled to be a grant recipient of a growing program that endeavors to further STEM education. A full list of the grant recipients can be found at 2022-2023 Grant Recipients – tvastem. ( https://www.tva.com/stem/2022-2023-grant-recipients ). We would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Missy Harold and Dr. Peni Hurt for exposing us to this opportunity and for enduring the process of writing the grant proposals on behalf of the school.
