Brian Mountain Appointed as Head of GCA's Golf Program

After years of leadership and service to the GCA golf program, Coach Andrew Gouge has resigned from his role as Director of Golf Operations and high school head coach to spend more time being a fan and a dad.  We are excited to announce that Coach Brian Mountain will be taking over as our new GCA Director of Golf Operations.  Coach Mountain has been involved with our golf program as both middle school Head Coach and high school assistant coach for the past 3 seasons.  "I'm honored to follow Coach Gouge in leading this growing golf program and am beyond thankful for his guidance." We are pleased to announce that Coach Mountain and Coach Bryce Kendrick will be the new Co-Head Coaches of our high school varsity golf team. Coach Hendrick is an alum of GCA and went on to play Division 1 golf for Tennessee Tech University.

Because of extraordinary golf interest among our younger students, this season for the first time GCA will have an elementary school and middle school junior varsity golf team.  This team will be competing in the East Tennessee Youth Golf Association with GCA golfers from 1st - 8th grade.  We would like to welcome Coach Stephen Denuel as the new coach of our elementary & middle school Junior Varsity programs.  Coach Denuel and his wife have 2 children at GCA.  "I am excited to join the Ramily and help continue to grow the game of golf here."

The middle school varsity team will continue to be led by Coach Mountain and Assistant Coach Tony Johnson and will now be composed of our top 6th - 8th grade golfers.  Entering a 4th season of unprecedented success, with multiple middle school golf championship titles, this season our middle school varsity team will transition to competing in the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association, a statewide association composed of schools from Memphis to the Tri-Cities.
