GCA began the varsity football game on Friday, September 24, 2021 with a powerful tribute to honor the thirteen servicemen killed in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. Players presented thirteen flags representative of each lost life, and the team stood in honor of those who have and are continuing to serve our country.
A touching letter written by serviceman Ryan Knauss’ father expressing their gratitude to the GCA community was read since the family could not be present as they were a part of another event that evening. A beautiful rendition of the National Anthem sung by John King, GBC Pastor Bobby Lewis, and Ted Francisco.
