The Rams Crown Homecoming Royalty

During the Rams Homecoming football game on Friday, September 22, Grace Christian Academy crowned its 2023 Homecoming king and queen.

At Friday's 2023 Homecoming coronation, Josian Watson, son of David and April Watson, and Cooper Burchfield, daughter of daughter of Joe Birchfield and Layla and Todd Fulks, were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.

Freshmen Representatives

Ella Draper – Ella is the daughter of Phillip (C/O 2006) and Paige Draper. This is her second year attending GCA. Ella has two siblings that also attend GCA. Her brother Deacon is in 4th grade, and her sister Lainey is in 1st grade. Three words that friends and family would use to describe Ella are funny, nice, and outgoing. Ella is a member of the Lady Rams Volleyball team, and away from school, she enjoys working in the children’s ministry at Sevier Heights Baptist Church.

Jackson Coffey  - Jackson is the son of Lucas and Andrea Coffey and has been a student at GCA for four years. Jackson also has two siblings who attend GCA, his sister Piper is in 6th grade, and his brother Davis is in 1st grade. Jackson’s favorite thing about being a student at Grace is the family atmosphere of the school. Jackson plays for both the Ram football and basketball teams, is a member of the Upper School Ensemble, and serves as the freshman student life representative. He also enjoys playing golf and participating in Grace Student Ministries.

Sophomore Representatives

Avery Currier – Avery is the daughter of Michel and Jessica Currier, and the sister of Reese (C/O 2023) and Crystina.  This is Avery’s third year at GCA.  Three words that friends and family use to describe Avery are creative, independent, and funny.  She is a member of the Lady Rams Soccer team and the Track and Field team where she was awarded Most Improved Player.  Avery is also part of the Worship Arts team and enjoys playing the guitar and bass.  Away from school, she also plays club soccer for One Knox.

Evan Pritchard – Evan is the son of Ginger Pritchard and the late Andy Pritchard.  He has one sister, Tristan (C/O 2020) and one brother, Ty (C/O 2022).  Evan is a GCA lifer!  His favorite part of being a student at GCA is meeting students outside of the classroom and getting out of your comfort zone. Evan is a member of both the Ram football and basketball teams.  He also enjoys serving at CareCuts with his travel baseball team and working in youth baseball camp.

Junior Representatives

Savanna Thompson – Savanna is the daughter of Matthew and Jodi Thompson, and the sister of Sydney (C/O 2023). She is also a GCA lifer. Three words that family and friends use to describe Savanna are organized, determined, and caring. Savanna is a member of the Ram Scholar’s Bowl team and the newly formed STEM Club. She also assists with teaching ballet classes at Grace Performing Arts Center and helping in 2nd grade children’s church at Grace Baptist Church.

Luis Damus – Luis is the son of Gilson and Adriana Damus and has one older brother, Joao. Luis is in his first year at GCA and comes to our Grace community from Sao Paulo, Brazil as part of our international student program. His favorite thing about GCA is attending the football games. Luis enjoys participating with the Ram soccer team, hanging out with his friends, and having fun!

Senior Representatives

Gracelyn Hollifield – Gracelyn (Gracie) is the daughter of Junior and Gretchen Hollifield and sister to Lucas Hollifield, also a senior class homecoming representative this year. This is Gracie’s fourth year as a GCA student. Her favorite part of school is getting to do life with all the friends she has made at GCA. Gracie is a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Lady Rams Soccer team. In her junior year of play she was elevated to both the district and regional team and awarded Division II-A East Player of the Year. Away from school Gracie enjoys playing club soccer and coaching at youth soccer camps in the area.

Emmalynn Weeks – Emmalynn (Emmy) is the daughter of Mike and Cyndi Weeks and the sister of Judah (9th grade) and Elias (6th grade). This is Emmy’s first year at GCA, coming to our community from New Zealand. She has enjoyed Senior Summit and has found Grace to be a place where people, including the teachers, really care about each other. Three words that family and friends would use to describe Emmy are mature, hardworking, and loving. Emmy serves as a senior class chaplain on the Ram Ministry team this year. Away from school she enjoys being out in nature, spending time with family, and working with little children. 

Elijah Bishop – Elijah (Eli) Bishop is the son of Mark and Kristin Bishop and has two sisters, Kate, and Meredith (C/O 2021).  Eli has attended GCA for ten years. Three words that friends and family use to describe Eli are leader, level-headed, and charismatic. Eli is a member of the GCA Ensemble and served as a student life representative during his freshman year. Eli is a member of both the Ram football and Ram soccer teams. When he is not at school Eli also enjoys fishing, traveling, and supporting the BIG ORANGE!

Lucas Hollifield – Lucas is the son of Junior and Gretchen Hollifield and brother to Gracie Hollifield, also a senior class homecoming representative this year. Lucas has been a student at GCA since his freshman year. Three words that friends and family use to describe Lucas are funny, hardworking, and athletic. Lucas is a member of the Ram soccer team earning Defender of the Year.  He also plays on the Ram football team and was awarded a place on the All-State team for punting and kicking. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and in his time away from school Lucas enjoys playing his custom-made guitar.
