The swim team has completed their local competition season.
The GCA middle school and high school swim teams recently completed their local competition season at the KISL and KMSSL Championship Meet held at UT's Alan Jones Aquatic Center. This meet was attended by schools from all across the region - over 500 swimmers from 39 teams in the high school meet and almost 350 swimmers from 25 teams in the middle school meet.
Middle School highlights:
7th grader Caleb Knapper recorded two personal best times at the meet.
Upper School results:
Junior Briley Bube, sophomores Josh New and Colin Willis, and freshmen Wyatt Noe and Winston Woodard all recorded at least one personal best time at the meet.
Junior Caitlyn Perkey qualified 13th in the 200Y Individual Medley to advance to the finals session where she remained in 13th place. She automatically advanced to finals in the 500Y Free based on her seeding. She finished 9th in that event.
Perkey is the only swimmer to have qualified for the TISCA State Championship meet. Perkey has qualified in four events but will be swimming the 200Y IM and 500Y Free at the state meet in Nashville on February 11-12.
We are proud of all our swimmers and the growth they made during the 2021-22 season and hope to see our team grow during the 2022-23 school year!
