Congratulations to GCA Lady Rams Basketball Coach, Tim Smith, who surpassed his 500th career win as a head coach when the Lady Rams beat Knoxville Christian School! Their next win over Concord Christian was win #501 for Coach Smith and we're so excited to recognize him for this amazing milestone.
Coach Smith has been coaching for thirty years and considers himself blessed to have had such a rich experience teaching and coaching young adults in the sport that he loves. Congratulations, Coach Smith!

The GCA Varsity Basketball teams finished their seasons with five players being named to the All-District Teams. With new coaches and young teams, the future looks bright for both programs!
The Varsity Girls team finished 6-11 on the season. Jade Barfield (Sr), Maria Hawkins (Sr) and Carlee Adkins (So) were named to the All-District team.
The Varsity Boys team finished 5-19. Johnny Eller (Sr) and Dylan Doerfler (So) were named to the All-District team.
Congratulations to both teams and these outstanding players for their hard work and determination!

The Lady Rams hosted a district play-in game on Monday night.
The Lady Rams hosted Berean Christian School in a play-in game for the district tournament. The Lady Rams won 57-42 which advanced them into the district tournament at Webb later this week.
Junior Maria Hawkins led scoring with 15 points while junior Jade Barfield recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Carlee Adkins added 10 points and senior Chloe Duggins had 6 assists.
The Lady Rams will face The King's Academy at Webb on Thursday, February 13 at 7:00pm.

The Lady Rams closed out their regular season on the road at The King's Academy on Friday night.
The Lady Rams finished their regular season on Friday evening at The King's Academy in Seymour. TKA defeated the Lady Rams 66-33.
Senior Chloe Duggins led the Lady Rams in scoring with 10 points while freshman Carlee Adkins added 8 points. Junior Jade Barfield pulled down 7 rebounds.
The Lady Rams return to action on Monday at 6:00 on their home court. This will be a district play-in game with the winner advancing to the district tournament.

The middle school basketball teams season got underway on Tuesday evening at GCA against St. John Neumann. Results are below:

The MS Varsity girls team won the championship game is the KISL Tournament on Tuesday night.
The MS Varsity girls completed their season with a KISL Championship! The Lady Rams defeated Episcopal School of Knoxville in overtime in the title game.

GCA Girls MS Varsity Basketball Team Wins Championship
Congratulations to the GCA Girls MS Varsity Basketball Team who won the KISL Silver Tournament to conclude a fantastic season on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Lady Rams won the championship were the only GCA MS team to progress that far in the tournament.
Tournament award winners included:
MS JV Girls: Abby Silver, All-KISL
MS V Girls: Hailey Brooks, Tournament MVP; Sarah Beth Butler & Kendall Stansbury, All-Tournament Team; Grace Lay, All-KISL

The MS Varsity girls are looking to extend their season with a tournament win.
The MS Varsity girls opened play in the KISL Varsity Girls Silver bracket last Monday (Feb 3). The Lady Rams won their opening match-up by defeating Tennessee School for the Deaf 48-9. The Lady Rams were scheduled to play on Thursday, but school closings have moved the semifinal game against Emerald Academy to Monday, February 10 at 6:30.
