GCA Cross Country boys before start of race

The cross country team competed in two races last week.

The GCA Varsity Cross Country teams raced on Thursday at Cherokee Farms in Knoxville. This was a brand new course for GCA and proved to be a great day of racing for the team. The girls were led by Elizabeth Christopher with a 5K time of 22:24 and followed by Katie Brown. Elizabeth's run earned her a first place finish in the small schools division! The boys had a good night as well led by Reilly Mehegan who finished 3rd in the small schools division with a time of 18:23.  Zach Lee, Isaiah Spoon, Luke Molitor, Wesley Hitch, Matthew Bringle and Ben Whittemore all earned a PR times.

On Saturday, the team traveled to Bristol, Tennessee to run in the 28th annual Bristol Cross. This is one of the most difficult courses we run all year and with hot temperatures, the times were slower for the entire field. Elizabeth Christopher had a top 50 finish as well as Reilly Mehegan in an elite field of runners.

Go Rams and Lady Rams - keep up the hard work!
