VISUAL ARTS CLASSES
Beginning as early as PreK, visual art students begin developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while cultivating their self-expression by using various art media and techniques and projects, such as drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, fiber arts, and graphic design.
Artists build the confidence to create intentional, meaningful choices in their art through collaboration, community-centered projects, and discussions of art criticism, aesthetics, art history, and storytelling. These hands-on opportunities are intended to teach student artists at all levels about the creative process and to also help them develop skills in a wide variety of diverse techniques.
GCA Students in Kindergarten through 4th grade attend art class once a week. They are taught elements of design such as line, shape, color, form, value, space, and texture by creating a variety of projects.
GCA High School students can continue to develop their artistic abilities through advanced art classes and even earn potential college credit through the A.P. Studio Art class.
