GCA Staff Member Sews Masks for Healthcare Personnel

Mrs. Julie Bass, former GCA 5th-grade teacher and current assistant to the GCA Head of School, has been busy during her evenings in the last few weeks.  As many know, Mrs. Bass is a talented seamstress who has completed a number of projects for staff members and others.

Mrs. Bass is using her extra time at home during social distancing to make a difference in our community.  After hearing about the shortage of masks in the area for medical personnel, she put her skills to work.  As of now, she's sewn over 120 masks and distributed them in the Knoxville area to pediatrician's offices and hospitals, including Blackmon Pediatrics, Knoxville Pediatrics, Costco, Helen Ross McNabb, Fort Sanders, a home health care group and other individuals.
