GCA Core Value: Family | An Invaluable Support for Parents
Mrs. Amy Henderson, GCA Lower/Early Middle Principal

One of the greatest blessings that we can experience here on Earth is the opportunity to become a parent. There is no more rewarding and simultaneously challenging role. We have all heard the phrase “it takes a village” in reference to raising a child. My husband and I did not fully understand the significance of a “village” until we had our daughter and each day experienced new things that we questioned if we were handling correctly. I believe that this feeling is common to many families as they seek to do their best to mold and guide their children. We quickly learned the importance of surrounding ourselves and our daughter with the proper “village.” At GCA, we seek to be a part of the “village” for each of our families.

On the GCA campus, we use the words “family” and “partnership” every day to describe what we strive to achieve. These are not just words spoken but truly at the core of what we seek to accomplish. Our school mission is to LEAD students to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, BUILD them up in their full potential in Him, and EQUIP them to serve Him. The school cannot accomplish this mission alone, and we know that the we are not meant to replace the importance of family in the guiding of a child. In Deuteronomy scripture clearly explains the role of family in the spiritual development of their child.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Scripture explains the importance of families teaching their children and supporting them as they develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that it is the primary role of the parents to support the spiritual growth of their children. We seek to come alongside your family as a partner in this process. At GCA, we believe that children will flourish when there is consistency in the message that students hear at school, at home with their family, and at their local church.

Each family that makes up the larger GCA family is a blessing and we are honored that you choose to partner with us. It is our sincere prayer that we can come alongside your family working together as a team in partnership to LEAD, BUILD, and EQUIP your children.  We want to personally thank you for allowing us to be a part of your “village” and want you to know that we are praying for each of your families.
