Distance Learning: Reflections from a GCA Middle School Instructor
Teri Rash

Mrs. Schwahn writes, "I feel like a new teacher all over again. Having to rethink the way I teach has resulted in my getting to my knees repeatedly. Through all this I have been humbled by the outpouring of support from former coworkers in other parts of Tennessee and across the United States. I have experienced collaboration unlike anything I have ever known in my entire teaching career. Resources are flying at me from all directions that at times it has been like trying to take a drink from a fire hydrant open full blast.

Through it all I have leaned heavily on Isaiah 41:9-10 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (NIV)

Did you know that in the Bible there are at least 62 times where we are reminded that God has called us?!?! Understanding, trusting in, and believing that God will meet all my needs for the specific tasks He calls me to has been the biggest lesson I have had these past few weeks. It hasn't been easy, but each moment is another chance to draw closer to God and experience His perfect peace and the comfort only He can provide."

We're so thankful for the heart and dedication displayed by the GCA faculty during this unexpected new season.  Despite the unknowns, we believe wholeheartedly that God is already using this season for good in our school community.
