Congratulations to Ram Wrestlers Nic Bass, Eric Beecham and Garrett Lay – Halls Invitational Tournament Champions! The Rams finished 3rd in the Tournament behind Division II powerhouse McCallie, and host Halls High School. Go, RAMS!
McKenna tried out and made the Tennessee Olympic Development Team Pool for the Tennessee Olympic Development Team this past Fall.
The last week of December McKenna was notified that she is one of 18 girls selected to play on the Tennessee Sub-Regional Team that will compete in Gainesville, Georgia, this weekend: Jan 12-14. This sub-regional event consists of 3 games against other teams within Region III and provides opportunities for all players to be exposed to college coaches and experience collegiate level coaching.
Players identified through this event could potentially be added to the Region III ODP Pool and possibly invited into a Region Pool Camp representing the 11 states within Region III.
Great job, McKenna!
Ram Wrestlers competed well at the Stone Memorial Day of Duals this past weekend. Seniors Eric Beecham, Garrett Lay and Tanner Thornton each went 5-0 on the day, while sophomore Ben Beaver was 4-1 and junior Nic Bass was 3-2. The Rams will compete on Saturday at the Charger Invitational at Chattanooga Christian.
Senior Savvy Sponcia swam for GCA on Sunday and finished 3rd in the 200m freestyle with a personal best time for this season!
Sophomore Avery Alexander placed 4th and will advance to State as an individual for the Rams. The Lady Rams placed 2nd and will advance as a team; junior Virginia Pirkle placed 3rd and sophomore Taylor Carter placed 5th. Great job, everyone!
We would like to extend CONGRATULATIONS to Head Football Coach Rusty Bradley who achieved his 100TH WIN as a Head Coach!
The milestone is a culmination of victories amassed over the years at stints with CAK, USJ and now as the Rams Coach here at GCA. He hit the century mark this past Friday Night vs. Happy Valley as he led your Mighty Rams over the Warriors 27-19!
We are excited to welcome Brad Osborne to the GCA family! Brad is originally from Nashville, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee in May 2017 with a BS in Kinesiology. He recently finished his collegiate experience coaching and training with the UT baseball team under Dave Serrano. He played football and baseball at Mount Juliet High School. He has many years of experience coaching young athletes and worked with UT's Strength and Conditioning program for 2 years of his time in college. Brad has also taken his passion for athletics well beyond Tennessee. He has spent the last two years taking trips to the Dominican Republic working with Baseball academies. He is passionate about mentoring young athletes to improve themselves well beyond the playing field.
Please keep a look out for upcoming interest meetings and a tryout date.
