Q: How is your school different from other schools?
A: Grace Christian Academy combines a commitment to academic excellence with a Biblical world view. Our mission statement guides all aspects of school and community life, from classrooms to the athletic fields, on stage and off campus. We exist to develop students both academically and spiritually to impact the culture for Christ, a goal that has been part of our foundation since 1997.
Q: What is an average class size?
A: While each class may vary, our goal remains to offer a student to teacher ratio that fosters students' success. In Kindergarten, class sizes are limited to 18. Lower School classrooms have a maximum of 22 students and middle school classes a maximum of 25 students. Upper school Advanced Placement and Honors classes may have as few as 10 students. The average class size for grades 1-12 is 19 students.
Q: How is your school accredited?
A: Grace Christian Academy is accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

A: Lower School | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Middle School | 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM
Upper School | 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM

A: 10% have advanced degrees (master’s or Ph.D.) and an average of 16 years of teaching experience.

Q: How do you address the variety of academic strengths and challenges of individual students?
A: Our academy believes Christ has created each child uniquely and our teachers utilize a variety of teaching strategies to engage students, maximize their learning styles and support their learning needs. Our small class sizes allow teachers to know when a student is ready for more challenge and how to provide support when needed.

Q: Do you offer Advanced Placement courses?
A: We currently offer nine AP classes and continue to add new advanced placement classes regularly.
Q: Do most of your students attend colleges and where are they accepted?
A: 97% of our students go to four year colleges or universities, many with scholarships for academics, athletics or fine arts. The senior class of 2011 was awarded more than $500 thousand in scholarships and awards
Q: Do you offer extended care to students?
A: Grace Baptist Church offers an extended day program available to students in kindergarten through grade 8. All program services end promptly at 6 p.m. Contact Mary Carey at 865.691.8886, ext. 3820 for details and fees for the Grace Place program.
Q: Do you admit students in mid-year?
A: Grace Christian Academy accepts applications throughout the year, where class availability exists. It can be challenging, however, for upper school students on a block schedule to move to our daily seven class format in mid-year. Each situation is carefully and prayerfully evaluated by admissions and the principals.
